Thanks for Supporting our Small Business

It’s officially Small Business Week and we want to thank YOU for supporting Mountain West!

Mountain West Cider was founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife duo Jennifer and Jeff Carleton after moving to Utah and realizing that the cider selection was slim and the opportunity huge. They missed the dry, English-style ciders they came to prefer while traveling Europe. So, they took matters into their own hands and Mountain West Cider opened as the first dedicated cidery in Utah. We first introduced three ciders to the market- the classic Ruby, Cottonwood Dry Hopped, and 7 Mile Session. We later added Desolation to our year-round selection in 2017 and Sweet Alice in 2020. Even so, Ruby and Cottonwood have remained fan favorites since their release!

Thanks to you, we’ve been able to expand our product line across three states! We’ve also introduced seasonal, small-batch ciders available on-tap at our tasting room and specialty ciders that benefit community partners. Among these community-partnered ciders is our year-round Desolation Prickly Pear cider. Named after the rugged Desolation canyon, a portion of all sales from this cider is donated to the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA) in an effort to protect our public lands. We have also partnered with The Green Urban Lunchbox (GULB) to produce a cider made from apples harvested right in Salt Lake City, a portion of all bottle sales go straight to GULB in support of their mission to reduce food waste.

We are so grateful for every person that enjoys our cider and aim to serve the community that serves us!
