Hard Cider…in Utah?
That’s right folks, Mountain West Hard Cider has finally been approved by all the appropriate authorities to start manufacturing quality hard cider!
We’re proud to be the first cidery in Salt Lake City, Utah and want to voice our thanks to the local community and the state’s craft beverage producers who’ve been very encouraging and supportive. We’ll soon open our production room, package store and tasting room for sampling great cider and to feature local artisan food pairing events. Mountain West is proud to introduce our head cidermaker, Joel Goodwillie. With over 25 years of experience as an award winning wine and cider maker, he now calls Utah his home. Please drop by our package store and introduce yourself.
Mountain West Hard Cider uses only quality local ingredients from the Mountain West region to craft every day, seasonal, and artisan hard apple cider. Each one of our ciders is created and inspired by our Utah and Colorado Canyons; after one taste you will understand the inspiration. Our Flagship product, RUBY Hard Cider is a crisp and delicious traditional hard apple cider and will be available very soon. All of our ciders are handcrafted using locally sourced apples. Our fresh apples, traditional process and fresh ideas are a recipe for success.
Why cider? Hard cider is growing in popularity because it’s an anytime, anywhere, anybody beverage. It’s lighter than beer and with a crisp and refreshing taste that can be similar to wine in it’s complexity. It’s also a naturally gluten free option for consumers with gluten intolerance.
